Who knew that squash flowers were so pretty? I certainly didn’t.
The squash flower is the big flower behind all the smaller Stella de Oro day lilies. I didn’t know it would match the stellas when I put the squash pots there. Some luck there.
Man, that flower is huge!

I slept most of the day and awoke to find the garden gorgeous.

Not again.
So the garden has been growing wonderfully. It has loved the hell out of all the rain we’ve been getting. The tomato plants were huge. The bean bushes were growing. The cucumber plants were leafy. And the squash vines were sprouting.
Notice the past tense “were” in those sentences?

Summertime
Tonight is Beltane, the beginning of Summer. I don’t have anything special planned, other than to light a candle or two (or three or ten… I can never stop until I hit double digits). And I plan on meditating a bit to try and ease some stress.

Poor Prudie is absolutely heartsick over this. We do hope that maybe she’ll concentrate on her quilting now to keep her mind off of the dead garden.
